Webber was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 1, 1973. He began playing basketball at an early age, and he quickly developed into one of the top players in the country. He was a Parade All-American and the Michigan Mr. Basketball in 1991. Webber then attended the University of Michigan, where he played for the Wolverines from 1991 to 1993. Webber was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic in the 1993 NBA draft. However, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors on draft day. Webber spent two seasons with the Warriors before being traded to the Sacramento Kings in 1995. He played for the Kings for six seasons and helped lead them to the Western Conference Finals in 2002. Webber was then traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2005, and he played for them for two seasons. He finished his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons in 2008.

Webber was a versatile player who could score, rebound, and pass. He was also a good defender. He averaged 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game in his NBA career.
